Design is evolving from a purely visual practice to one that requires written expression, too. To address the growing number of designers who want to integrate writing into their practice, the editors of Eye on Design are offering a “Design Writing 101” workshop geared towards helping designers learn how to translate their ideas into text. During the workshop, we’ll walk designers through the basics of conceptualizing and refining an idea, crafting a pitch, and using powerful language to connect their visual acumen to the written word. This workshop will cover the various writing formats that designers might encounter in their practice, including publishable articles, “about” statements, and descriptions of their work.
