Kristian is an Educator, Climate Designer, and Pragmatic Utopian living in Baltimore, MD, USA (Piscataway and Susquehannock land) with his wife and two children. He is the current chair of Graphic Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Kristian runs Wjerk — an occasional design studio collaborating on identities, (re)generative systems, digital tools, and books with a rotating cast of characters. Over the years Kristian has transesterified biodiesel, helped his wife run a small vegetable farm, built open source software, prototyped DIY plastic recycling equipment, and is currently converting his family's small yard into an orchard. Kristian holds an MFA in Graphic Design from MICA and a BA in Studio Art from Kalamazoo College.
