Speaker Bio
Costa Rican graphic designer who graduated from the school of Fine Arts at the University of Costa Rica in 2000. As a multidisciplinary designer her experience and interests are broad and include access to information, identity and cultural representation, design for disability justice, community engagement and facilitation, and design education. In 2019 she worked as a pro-bono designer for the municipality of Curridabat, in San José, capital of Costa Rica. It was during that last internship that she had her first approach to research in design. Said project constituted a professional turn for her career as a designer. Her goal is to introduce Social Design in her country. She is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Fine Arts in Design and Visual Communication at the University of Florida and working as an instructor of undergraduate typography at UF.
