John Schaefer has spent the last three decades exploring technology and music. In the 90s, he worked as Creative Director for the Eclectic Radio Company helping broadcast some of the first internet radio programs to feature live DJs. He served as Music Director for KGNU Community Radio helping, among other initiatives, to create engagement strategies for the station's listener base through mobile devices. At Oracle, John helped develop and deploy a global messaging service for mobile apps. Additionally, John has coordinated musician exchange programs between Denver and Reykjavik and founded The East Colfax Scratch Academy, an educational turntablism series for Denver high school students. He co-founded and maintains Radio Rethink, an organization dedicated to providing mobile tools for community and public radio broadcasters.
