Omar Sosa-Tzec (he/him) is an Assistant Professor of Visual Communication Design in the School of Design at San Francisco State University. Omar studies the semiotics, rhetoric, and aesthetics of user interfaces, interactive experiences, and communication design. He holds a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction Design, MDes in Information Design, MSc in Industrial Computing and Mathematics, and a BSc in Computer Science. Omar has been a design instructor for over a decade, teaching various design topics to undergraduate and graduate students in design and non-design majors in Mexico and the United States. Omar has also worked on corporate identity, web design, and information design projects.
