Adam El-Sawaf is the Senior Adaptive Designer and Fabricator at Adaptive Design. While his background is in Industrial Design, he also pulls from his experiences in photography and art (mostly sculpture) to influence his design process. He is always eager to take on new design challenges and loves that the work he does at ADA is constantly changing and evolving to meet the needs of the organization's clients. He has always been a maker and has come a long way from getting in trouble for disassembling household appliances just to see how they work. Although he finds great fulfillment in creating, he equally enjoys teaching others how to find their own creative process and enabling them to build for others by teaching them the technical skills they need to make adaptations for their own communities. Adam is a firm believer in collaborative and open-source design and is always eager to spend time with anyone looking to learn and share ideas.
