Danielle Thierry is a writer, editor, and content strategist with the U.S. Digital Service at the Department of Veterans Affairs. She is a content lead for Veteran-facing content on VA.gov and has spent much of the past year focused on COVID-19 content and tools for Veterans. She recently also served as the design representative for the USDS equity in government forms discovery sprint.
Prior to USDS, Danielle served as content director at a contracting firm supporting VA’s digital modernization effort and ran a small consulting company specializing in health content. She has led plain language content initiatives across a wide range of health conditions, with a focus on cancer, HIV, and rare diseases. Danielle has also taught college English classes, founded a community-led literary journal, and served as executive director of a community-based creative writing nonprofit organization. She received her bachelor’s degree in radio/television/film and her master’s degree in creative writing and journalism from Rowan University.
