Speaker Bio
Emily Oberman is a multidisciplinary designer whose work spans brand identity, motion graphics, publications, packaging, advertising and digital. She has been a partner in the New York office of the international design consultancy Pentagram since 2012. A graduate of Cooper Union, she began her career working with Tibor Kalman at the legendary design studio M&Co. before co-founding Number Seventeen with Bonnie Siegler in 1993. Emily’s work is unique in that it blurs the line between promotion and design––often using language, wit and humor to make an emotional connection. This approach informs her identities for Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and 30 Rock. Other clients have included Warner Bros., Netflix, Amazon, DC Entertainment, Warner Records, MTV, Fisher-Price, Lovevery, Great Jones and Snoop Dogg. She has taught at numerous institutions, and has served on the national board of AIGA and as president of its New York chapter.
