Annabelle Gould is a Professor of Visual Communication Design at the University of Washington. Her focus is on teaching typography as a primary means of communication and creative expression. She is the creator and designer of the AIGA Design Teaching Resource, a peer-populated platform where educators can share classroom assignments, results, learning goals and project reflections. Annabelle is the former co-chair of the AIGA Design Educators Community Steering Committee. She is also an active practitioner specializing in editorial design and typography. Clients include Chronicle Books, the University of Washington, Pivotal Ventures, UW Press, Marquand Books, and ARCADE Magazine. Her work has been recognized in the AIGA 50 Books/50 Covers show and by the Type Director’s Club, the Society of Publication Designers, the University College Design Association and Print Magazine.
