Date
Monday, March 21, 2022
Time
9:45 AM - 10:30 AM (EDT)
Description
Transition Design is an emerging area of design in which designers are committed to long-term systemic change towards sustainable and equitable futures. In this session, Sofía Bosch and Marysol Ortega, doctoral researchers in Transition Design from Carnegie Mellon University, share cases from around the world involving transition initiatives and discuss how those are being deepened, connected and catalyzed by design through transdisciplinary collaboration. The cases were collected through conversations they had as hosts of the bilingual podcast Design in Transition/Diseño en Transición from areas such as public service sector, affordable housing, regenerative agroforestry, civic engagement, and food systems, among others.
