NAACP
Speaker Bio
Aba has over twenty years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Prior to joining the NAACP, she served as senior director for marketing and communications at The Common Application, where she spearheaded the development of strategic marketing and public engagement plans to advance the association’s brand identity as a thought-leader in higher education. Previously, Aba served as a communications and outreach officer with the U.S. Department of State. She has also held roles in marketing, communications, and information technology at Hood College, Towson University, and Cornell University.

Aba counts the NAACP 2019 group trip to Ghana, her home country, as one of her most treasured experiences with the NAACP - only to come back home and six months later, help the NAACP through the Coronavirus Pandemic. She and her team launched the "We Are Done Dying" campaign to bring attention to the disparities in healthcare and held a series of town halls to engage and educate the Black community about Covid-19

As 2020 continued, America was faced with a critical election cycle, the murders of Breonna Taylor, Arbery, and George Floyd. George Floyd’s murder ignited a movement and Aba and her team have made sure the NAACP’s influential voice continues to be heard loud, clear.
