Darrin Alfred is Curator of Architecture and Design at the Denver Art Museum (DAM), where he oversees the architecture and design department’s exhibitions, programming, and collection of over 19,000 objects. His curatorial projects include, The Psychedelic Experience: Rock Posters from the San Francisco Bay Area, 1965-71; Serious Play: Design in Midcentury America, co-organized with the Milwaukee Art Museum; Gio Ponti: Designer of a Thousand Talents; and Pattern Play: The Contemporary Designs of Jacqueline Groag, currently on view at the Palm Springs Art Museum. Most recently, Darrin conceived and developed the DAM’s new design galleries, which span over 11,000 square-feet of new and renovated space designed by OMA New York.

Previously, Darrin held curatorial positions at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Heinz Architectural Center. He has published essays on the design practices of 2x4, Fernando and Humberto Campana, AG Fronzoni, Ali Tayar, Martin Venezky, and Bjorn Wiinblad, among others.
